Bintang Bro: Reviews & Ratings
Decent indo food in a food court setting. Standard pricing for 3 dishes being $15.90. slightly smaller box was used (seems to be for 2 dishes) and also theres a surcharge.
The ayam bakar is very delicious and the fried rice is superb!
Nasi bungkus was delish! Massive portions, it would be good to have more variety.
I order from uber eat nasi gorenk fried chicken.. very delicious taste authentic abang2 nasi gorenk gerobak.. all staff friendly.. will comback again to order.. love yaa.
I enjoyed my nasi bungkus with beef rendang and cassava leaves on yellow rice. It also included a tasty sambal and crackers. Two choices + rice was approx AUD 16 which is decent for this part of town. While the food can be packed in a normal takeaway bowl, there's also the option of getting it traditionally wrapped in a banana leaf. Downsides: * disorganised queue with customers who arrived later getting served first * inconsistent service. I was served by man who included sambal and crackers with my nasi bungkus, but my friend who was served by a woman who did not add those
Hidden in Australia Square foodcourt. Love authentic grab and go lunch specials
Great to see an Indonesian food court stall in Australia Square! They specialise in Ayam Bakar (Grilled Chicken), Ayam Geprek (Smashed Fried Chicken with Chilli Sauce) & Ayam Sambal Matah (Fried Chicken with Balinese Spicy Sauce). I recommend getting their Yellow Rice (aromatic Turmeric rice) with any of their dishes . I had Yellow Rice with Egg in Spicy Sauce, Beef Rendang & Beef in Spicy Sauce. I really loved the Egg in Spicy Sauce. For extra kick of spicy, you can also ask for extra Sambal on the side (it’s quite spicy though!). Fast & friendly service.

Situated in the bustling food court of Australia Square, Sydney, Bintang Bro brings the rich flavors of Indonesian cuisine to the city’s vibrant dining scene. This eatery specializes in traditional dishes like Nasi Bungkus, Beef Rendang, Beef in Spicy Sauce, and curried vegetables, offering a genuine taste of Indonesia’s diverse culinary heritage.
The star of the menu, Nasi Bungkus, impresses with its generous portions and authentic presentation—either in a straightforward takeaway box or traditionally wrapped in banana leaf, adding an aromatic layer that elevates the overall experience. The inclusion of sambal and crackers complements the tender beef rendang and hearty cassava leaves, striking a balance between spicy, savory, and earthy flavors that Indonesian food lovers crave.
Customers have praised the succulent Ayam Bakar and the flavorful fried rice, which showcase Bintang Bro’s ability to execute classic dishes with finesse despite the modest food court setting. The distinctive taste of the beef rendang stands out as a must-try; its slow-cooked, richly spiced profile embodies the depth and complexity of Indonesian slow-cooking techniques.
